Johnny Faafeng, Norway's hope for the 1962 World orienteering championships missed the event in Spain. At Oslo, he accidentally boarded a plane bound for Iceland.

Crisis talks in the Yorkshire County Cricket team dressing room have been a regular occurrence in recent years. They are nothing new. They date as far back as 1961. At the end of that season, crisis talks occurred when Yorkshire lost the county championship by half a point.

Playing for Somerset Second XI, a youthful bowler was told to get ready as he was to be nightwatchman. He replied, "but I'll never stay awake".

TERRACE TALK / THE NOMADS

Bumped into some Orient fans recently. The first thing they asked was whatever happened to Terrace Talk. I told them. Next question, whatever happened to The Nomads and their soccer team who we used to play before the game. I told them. They then had a moan about Orient, their poor form, apathy at board level, Frank Clark and Orient in particular.
